being divits not raised spots I would interpet the spots in question as holes not rivets. Most likely such holes would have been used to hold some padding in and as such I would think that the protruding dags would be of fabric.

Eventually this is my dream as well. However, starting the jousting co is taking precidence over my dream SCA harness and the jousting armor is more expensive. heat makes a huge differance, I've dished 12g mild helm tops in about 15min per half with a torch and 4lb hammer. My dishing form is turned 6in diam 4140 dish, plannishing isn't neccessary after dishing, right on to finish work.

have the first one basically finished, wore it for a tourney then let it get rusty . Fit is awsome, didn't bind, pinch or move on me at all, and kept the demi greave of my leg harness from digging in.
