just some conjecture here, based on how the photo looks to me. All te little added loops on the bottom of each strand seem overly identical as if they are cast metal not cord. They would work allmost like bells that way too, so might have been a theft deteraint Just my 2cents, based off nothing but ...

....... I don't know what to say... There was a lot of sweat put in to these, but surely an equal measure of heart and spirit. In part, the goal is to honor the craftsmen of old, the patron of today, and to have fun along the way. I can attest to the fun, even through the frustrating parts. There i...

I'm not arguing for pourpoint/vesty thingies as being 'more documentable'. I'm arguing for them out of comfort - if they are fitted to you by someone with experience in them, it doesn't feel like you're wearing legs at all. No more low back pain. Amen to that. I have both a well made pourpoint and ...

yes and no...It will depend partially on what is between the two layers. If there is a gap between the two helms then the outer helm is going to dent as easly as any other 16g helm. The power that creates the dent will not be transfered to your head like it would in a single hlem set up though, so y...

Wulfgar, the faux ivory is a urethane resin, the same stuff used comercially for faux ivory and bone. As to feel I would say its closer to bone in feel than ivory, I had it an event this last weekend and most people thought it was real bone or ivory. beautifull case Cat. I'm way impressed by it. Your tooling makes me jealous. Since we are talking construction and stitches here, I'll add my two cents in.
