And Scotty's accent is faked. He's not from Scotland at all.

At the risk of pointing out the obvious.. I knew that.. thats why I said it.

If you can get the black plastic barrels that are tapered top and bottom, and use some judicious cutting techniques, you can get nested lorica (think collapsable drinking cup) out of them with minimal effort, a couple of quick rivets and some old seatbelts! (and at least one suit I know of construct...

How long has it been since the site went "live"?

It takes a while to get "crawled" and get into the search engines just by existance.. not sure if you can submit directly to Google and get it catalogued.

Not only a Pennsic size event, but with many more ammenities. Wonder who made the determination of what was "viable" and what was not? My guess on how that pouch was made is that its two thick front and back pieces, and a thinner gusset around it (kinda like a modern purse.. ) and then the flap is going to be another heavy piece. I think metal dust tends to be of a large enough size (at least from grinding operations) to be too heavy to "float" like a wood or plastic dust would. It falls pretty fast.. and thus very little chance of inhalation. Not sure about Aluminum however... I know I worked in a shop with tons of open gri...

Why would it be so bad to reward those who invest a bit of their own money into making the game look better? Why do we have to inject modern notions of populism into the question at all? This is why I oppose the "plate as proof" solution to the whole question of CA on the field. It opens a door to Armor as Worn in a non one-on-one situation and given the fact that we have enough calibration and attitude issues already, I see Armor as Worn as a slippery slope... The whole "money" th...

You'd think people would be honorable and only bring the best to the field. Unfortunately, it's not. I think 99.999% of the time they are. I'm not sure I'm understanding the force aspect of the arrows. I mean, I can take a gut shot full force with a spear and someone's weight behind it, but I can't be hit by a flying rubber ball with a stick attached? Seems like the spear is more dangerous than the arrows, IMHO. As long as the arrow h...

Who is likely pissed off at the Society Earl Marshal for ruling that archery shots have to hit like handheld weapons, and has choosen to sell off his gear instead of trying to shoot people in the nose all daylong. You can soak em with one of the water-repellant products designed for gun-socks and use them to wrap armor, guns, weapons, etc.. some civ war guys I know used to hoard old military blankets for that very reason.

Same idea as tanning, but it uses alum. Tanned furs usually lose the hair in a lot of species, (especially deer) because the follicles get loose and the hair falls out. Some species (due to their hair shape) will actually tan and keep their hair. Tawing is a slightly different practice, but alum shr...
