Most of the time I have seen monster rounds get that teepee-mushroom look its because while you _can_ put them up without perimeter poles, they really werent DESIGNED that way. We in the SCA tend to think along the lines of pavilion = lots of poles, historically pavilion meant 1, or _maybe_ two pole...

Hej Hamish.. do the George Foreman. Sniping is fun.. but its useless against someone with a good guard.. concentrate on good, minimalist move blocking, and then just wait for the inevitable opening, and flatten them. Thats my only advice.. (from another guy who doesnt move fast, just steadily) Maeryk

YEah.. refractory cement is what you want. You could even, conceivably, build the entire FORGE out of...

OK, think about this for a minute. A company that sells a sports drink, is going to market it and sell it to people knowing that it has too many whatevers and its going to make it's focus group sick. THe forge itself shouldnt be too terribly tough. I've seen em made of nothing more complicated than an old cast iron brake drum, a metal table to support it, a clinker breaker in the tuyer leading down from the drum to the blower, and an old military surplus hand crank blower for air. Charcoal is re...

I know some EK crowns have been pretty much won with "non standard" tournament forms.

But I think the finals here are usually best two of three, and each person gets to choose what form..

I _THINK_ His Grace Balfar has won with a pole.. but I could be wrong.

No, those things you found are not coke. THey are rocks. I _THINK_ they started doing that mainly so the ash dumps on steam engines wouldnt set the world on fire.. they lined it with rock that wouldnt burn. Probably not "cinders" per se. The Cinders that (used to) fall from steam engines are much smaller.. and look a lot like the left over slag ash from a coal stove. (fancy that!) A lot of railroads use slag from smelting or iron ore operations.. its very light, it sticks together, and its cheap (read:...

I believe a lot of the push for a flat earth comes from religious sources, including the temptation of the Christ, where satan takes Jesus high above and shows him the 4 corners of the earth. this strongly implies that the earth is flat. "earth" or "world"? As we know "world" is rather subjective.....
