Budobudo, Before you removed your location info, I think it said that you were either in or near Chicago, IL where I am. Sir Ix, the Aztec knight, is not that far away, more down towards St Louis, and is part of the same unit of the Mid Realm Army that we are here, the Midlands. Here is a picture of...

A severed leg means loss of blood, fast without without any type of first aid. Which, I think, is what they tried to imply with the hip-kill.. that you'd bleed out rather quickly if your hip/pelvis was crushed. At the end of the day, before the prize is given out, hold a helm show, and allow everyone, men and women, to vote on whether or ...

What it all comes down to is the great quote from above "Sword hits helm your dead" Wilhelm If the SCA were just a fight club, then you sure would be right, but it is more than just that. Odo, I banned visible non-period armor (modern sports gear) and clothing (jeans, camos, and sneakers) from the field, and banned "light fighting" (Shinai) as an organized style in Caid, because they continually ignored the rules about appearance on the field. I think that was enough at the time. Ala...

Wilhelm, Don't kid yourself into thinking that you're not a Madu user. You use one. When you walk out onto the field the vast majority of people who are watching are NOT educated observers, and what they see will be someone with a Madu, not someone with a spear. Hear! Hear! for Gaston's suggestion. If you want to be realistic than the only option is to dump the whole fighting form your knees convention. I we are going to play at sport with rules to govern "combat" then we need to get rid of the idea of realism- there is none. Arrows aren't nuclear and blows...

How much of it is going to be pre-hammered or shaped- you have some nice ridging in there that others might not be able to to do themselves at home (certainly not as nicely).

Also, any chance of a stainless version coming out?

Marginalized fan groups, such as the SCA Dagorhir, etc, attract marginalized people, many of whom are overweight.

Most of the better fighters in the SCA, currently, are people who would be considered reasonable athletes overall.

I thought Uther was off his game at Pennsic, as he had a busted up hand. He is definitely one of the most dominating fighters in the game and right there at the top, and a hell of a lot of fun to fight. I can't wait to fight him again when he is at 100%.
