Wars = job Tournies = fun This doesn't mean that I don't get to have fun on the job once in a while, but generally, I have a whole lot more fun fighting singles than wars, cause you can get stuck in some really crappy scenarios. Even at Pennsic now, I feel like I am doing "my job" as I run across th...

You don't want to shave all the sides and bare (non husked) corners. Your rattan will last about 1 good practice if you do that- plus the corners will hit a little "harder" than the round edges. Shaving the sides of a normal stick into an oval shape isn't bad and really doesn't change the amount of ...

Also, the use of spring steel splints makes a huge difference in the "splinting" of the armor.

a nice thin hardened leather (water or wax hardened) with some 18 ga hardened splints would be some kick butt protection.

A marshall, as the representative of the Crown, can find anyone unacceptable for any reason. They do not have to let fighters wearing visible hockey gear onto the field in any kingdom of they don't want to, and are willing to deal with the fallout that it causes.

Why is it that inarticulate dorky people alomst always seem to be who get interviewed by anyone with a camera?

That fight between the guy with the bearded axe (Madu-style) and the guy with the sword and shield just reminds me of how lame to watch 90% of Madu fights are. Exciting!
