I can think of at least 4 times that Atlantia has sided with the mid.
I an also think of once or twice where the numbers were so off, where I didn't even get a chance to swing a sword at someone during battles.

Re: Slavishly Coping a Style or Unique Expression
as far as following a style goes bryce i never did. Which is funny, because I can watch the someone from NC fight for 30 seconds, (Or before they even start to move, really) and tell if they have been working with you.... OK Bryce- I'm from NC. Looking at my style, who'd I train with? Alaric

I finally got mine hooked up in a test rig, and it heated up some 18 ga spring steel about as fast as Gruber's coal forge does. If I hook up some firebricks or build something to trap the heat with, I am sure that it will work even faster. I have to say that for the cost involved- 15 bucks for the b...

I found that they broke about the same rate as a regular sword- I broom the last eight inches of a sword about every 3-4 practices, so there really wasn't an issue of finding out how the fuller itself actually affected the life of the sword. I need to test them out some more- the sword I was using s...

I think that there is a point at which people need to look at helmets like those from Ashcraft Baker, and say- those are just plain ugly and non-period looking. What someone needs to offer is a well made Great Helm at a price similar to the Ashcraft Baker spun tops. Great helms look period, and can ...

Nicolai- what makes one armor better than the other? Small things like attention to the weld, shaping variation, finishing details, etc. Combat wise, there are some armorers I wouldn't wear even if the stuff were given to me for free. However, I would pay Eldrid double what he normally charges for a...

Armor for shows should still do more than look cool standing still. It should function and not be a liability to its wearer. Spikes, oversized shoulders (a la Warhammer & 40K) and such should not impede the fighter wearing them. I don't have a problem with fantasy armors at all, until someone tells ...

I love fighting in them, but honestly, they don't do the best job of protecting one's legs. I am re-designing mine to have a pocket in them to put a piece of something a little more solid in them for those special times (like fighting Cuan). They move better than anything I have ever worn before, br...

It is odd how many people use leather, barrel plastic, and aluminum, thinking that they are going to "save weight" when in reality the thicknesses of those materials that they have to use in order to satisfy safety requirements makes them weigh considerably more than spring steel or stainless. Yuck. Yuck, and $185 to boot. If you have to do something that nasty, at least use kydex or ABS, or at worst barrel plastic, that stuff really won't break, and depending on how you mold it (or use it in a CoP) it could actually look good. EEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK Scary stuff and he wants to charge f...

I had always assumed that the peascod shape developed in response to both shot and pikes. Much like on a modern tank, the glancing surface (angled armor) geometrically creates a much "thicker" piece of steel for the piercing device to go through by forcing it to try and cut through steel on the hypo...

Has anyone tried to use one to heat metal? The package of the one I saw says it'll go up to 3000 degrees, but even if it only goes up to half that, that'll still be a nice cherry red for metal work. Let me know, I'd love to be able to hook this up for $30, and have a propane tank running it than hav...

slip roll
Does anyone have or know of a decent slip roll for sale? I would like to be able to do up to 16 ga steel with it, but capacity for 18 would be fine.
Thanks,
