Thanks for sharing, this is awsome.
I did manage to find the google book version Here
I think it is the same book you are talking about, matches several of the effigies, unfortunately it looks like some of the captions are cut off, such as page 146.

Before I removed the padding from my Barbute, I had it set such that I could hang upside without it sliding off without the chinstrap fastened. I found it to be tolerable. My bascinet fits quite a bit more loosely, its has a small section of foam around the crown of the skull, with a padded linen li...

An ASO is an Anvil Shaped Object, typically a term used to refer to items that have an anvil shape, but are not suitable for the majority of anvil related tasks. When the term came around, it was mainly to refer to cast iron which was made in an anvil like shape. The cast iron is typically porous wh...

Mostly I was kinda looking at what material Armorsmiths of the 12th-16th centuries would have loved to have available to equip thei lords with. Also, the qualities/quantities of metal available to smiths changed with time, especially over a period of 5 centuries. The styles of armour common during ...

I'm going to cordially disagree with Chris G. above me and say that you should do it. Sorry, Chris - it's not meant as a personal affront. No offense taken. There are many great things about having a local group that is in fact local (I don't consider 2 hours to be very local) I watched a group in ...

I recommend against this for a variety of reasons. You do not need to be in a group or organized as a group to participate in the SCA and it takes several volunteers to keep a group going. I have seen several new people try to form a group, only to reach burnout shortly there after because of admini...

The sheildwall's job is to protect the spearmen. I thought the shield wall's job was to form a barricade behind our spears, so that those spears that turn coward and try to run have a nice wall to be skewered upon. I must have been doing it wrong this whole time. I need to get around to making some...

Why do you not want to use the plaster bandages? I used 3m Specialist Plaster Bandages, the green label extra fast kind, to make a back cast of a horse for a saddle project I'm working on. It made a sturdy cast. I would wrap whatever you plan to cast with some plastic wrap, makes it easier to cut of...

There are a few equestrians around southern midrealm. Part of the problem is there aren't many equestrian events in this region, so we have to transport up north to attend events. Many of the horse people in this region are focused on more modern riding activities. Also, transporting a horse has got...

I agree, its up to the SEM to determine if the basket hilt/demi is equivalent, I am just relaying what someone explained to me as the reasoning. When I lived in Atlantia, I used either a trigger or a lanyard. I no longer like triggers, so I use a lanyard instead, but my dislike for triggers was prob...

VII.A.2. Primary weapons used single-handed shall have a wrist strap (or equivalent restraint) which will keep the weapon from leaving the immediate area of the user. Restraints are not required on hafted weapons used single-handed, or on single-handed back-up weapons. I think this fell under the &...

It depends, but I would say you would only attach armour to an arming coat, I tend to think a gambeson typically refers to a padded garment worn over a set of armor such as mail. Some people are more specific in their terminology, while others refer to the same garment as a gambeson, arming coat, or...

Unless your local library is a pretty hopping place, I doubt there will be enough people there to bother you. Thomas makes a great suggestion, if you are looking to invest in some books, take a look at them first to see if you will find the information valuable. If you only plan to buy 1 or 2, it wo...
