The huffy attitude of "The non-chivalrous aren't invited to OUR battle" is more of a problem than any skewed rules system. I really think that we all can "Just get along." Except the non-chivalrous aren't invited to OUR battle because of 6. Combatants shall behave in a knightly ...

In the legs section of "Techniques of Medieval Armor Reproduction" there are some good photos of putting the triangle depression into the fan. You can clearly see the hammer marks and how the piece was oriented.

I'm not sure what Sir Rhys will say, but I imagine it will be something along the lines of it doesn't matter if that is true for every period under the SCA banner or every culture, it matters if its true for those that would be in a European Court, everyone else is a guest.

I think I would probably sit a battle that involved cannons. It seems to me that creating something that simulates grapeshot (or any other "area" kill effect) is just an attempt to "grief" in the SCA.

You guys have to get authorized to throw axes at wood?! Wow, you really are heaping on the authorizations. That is not correct, no authorization is required to particpate in throwing weapons at targets, its the same as target archery. There are different marshals for each, but no authorizations.

I can't because I've never heard of such an authorization.

In Atlantia, there is simply a spear authorization.

I'll make sure the champion of Black Diamond is informed of your Challenge. You could also post it to the Black Diamond list, or I could do it for you if you prefer.

Someone with more marshalling experience than myself might correct me, but last I checked, in Atlantia, there isn't a requirement to arm the forearm and as such no minimum material requirement. I bought my arms used from someone off the AA a couple of years ago. According to my micrometer, the leath...

But still, you want a mask that follows the contours of the face, if I understand you correctly? (Sorry if "intricate" was the wrong word... And if you don't like that, welll, there's lots else to do--even if you can't fight you can still fence--anyone can do that and you don't have to worry about being hit--and they'll let you shoot people with rubber band guns, so you don't even have to learn to fence if you don't want to. 1) I don't know, someone else will have to answer that question. It will vary quite a bit if the person is making a riveted mail hauberk versus a butted mail hauberk. 2) Depends on the ring size and the size of your hauberk. A smaller hauberk needs fewer rings, a smaller the ring size requires more ...
