Pinky Balls.
For some reason, no one seems to be selling these anymore. I could get tons of 'em for around 0.50 a piece. I don't know what the deal is now...

Metal bazubands tend to slip forward way too easily, so that the elbow part isn't protecting your elbow, and the cuff is binding your wrist. Plus, they can be extremely heavy. That's pretty much a deterrent for most people. The one SCA fighter I know that uses them and makes them work is Sir Ustad (...

De Clermont: I just chucked the rattan into the vice and used my trusty draw-knife. With practice, you can get a very smooth finish, where the grip feels "just right", but it's not so thin that it breaks in your hand. Plus, not cutting yourself with the sharp blade is helpful, too. Mine could take ...

De Clermont: You've got a number of options for headwear: Most of the evidence of 12th-13th century headwear is iconographic, either from illuminations or from tomb effigies. Here are a few examples from sources I've seen. Thanks to the groups Cavaleri del Tau, De Liebaart and Compagnia de Peon for ...

Most Windlass Steelcrafts blades I've ever owned have had the "India" stamp on the tang under the handle, where it can't be seen. The true reason that there are problems with Indian blades is this: Indifferent quality assurance. One can get a fine quality blade from an Indian shop, with a temper and...

As far as I know, rivets in helmets always had to be made of at least steel or iron, unless the rivet weren't structural. An example of this is a stainless helm where the platese are welded from the inside, but the rivets are a purely decorative detail. As to why such a change is being implemented.....

That has very detailed instructions, and pictures. Bookmark it. For strapping a helm: My preferred method is ...
