Is there anyone here that knows how to braze?
One of the things I'd like is to have a chape made for a rattan sword scabbard. If anyone knows how this could be done---please let me know.

Rmermuys: As I stated--damned shame. Even a plumber's end cap, lag-bolted to the end of rattan as a counter-weight (particularly with one of your crosshilts) would dress up a rattan weapon leagues beyond most of the dreck that masquerades for weapons around most SCA lists. What I'm hoping you'd do ...

A list of projects for myself (shoemaker's children thread)
To all: Have you ever found that you spend a lot of time making stuff for other people (primarily because you say,"God, you'd look cool in that..let me make it for you") yet you don't work much on your personal projects? That's the dilemma I refer to as the Shoemaker's Children Paradoxâ„¢ *. I am re...

Aw, shucks, fellers—‘twern’t nuthin’ http://www.armourarchive.org/ubb/redface.gif Seriously…the reason I started building these is that they’re a better alternative to what’s currently out there (leather loops that show the rattan, two-inch nickeled rings, and Schedule 40 pipe loops). ...

In all likelyhood, I'm going to remake my rattan scabbard, and re-do the sword furniture. I currently have a scabbard for my rattan arming sword, long sword and dagger. I have a simple leather case for my "By My Hand" mace. But after finishing William Avery's--I'm jealous! Ultimately, I'm going to b...

William Avery's commission--FINISHED! (long & graphics inten
Well, the long overdue commission for William Avery is finally in the mail. I had been commissioned to make for William one of my rattan scabbards. The difference is that this one came with sword and belt furniture from Anshelm Arms , to include a buckle, belt end and twenty belt stiffeners. In addi...

WMA: As much as I want it, I cannot get Raibeart the money in enough time for him to get a replacement pavilion in time for Pennsic. Rather than making him wait, I'd rather see the tent get a good home, so Raibeart can get the tent he needs for all his stuff. If you can help him get that, go for it...

To see what such a tent looks like, go to this page . The one up for offer by Raibeart does not have stripes. Not wishing to contradict Raibeart, but it's actually called a "belled-back" wedge or Museum Wedge. The tent was made by Tentsmiths , and is a design more from 1500-1600 C. E. It was my firs...

And, you could use Andy Goddard's Page...
