My only problem in turnshoes is compensating for sudden, quick shifts on wet grass on a sloped surface. Can anyone steer me to a copy of Der mittelalter Reiterschild des Abendlands by Dr. Helmut Nickel, former curator of the Metropolitan museum? I've done a number of searches on this subject, but have come up empty. This thesis has valuable information on the construction of medieval knightly shields.

It's not necessarily a search for information--is a quest to provoke dialogue on what that information may mean, and get a different perspective on the data. That's why many people ask questions on the R&A board in the first place. That's chiefly why I do, at any rate.
