Well like you said, the armour was never used . . .
Maybe you took a few too many shots to the head (and should have been wearing the helm)

I do feel that much of what you are describing is available here. m Perhaps taking this as a base and adding more visuals and links to videos. Good luck in your pursuits! I have read this ebook over and over. It is way too basic to go from newbie to armour. Make a book which references this, but sh...

Re: What should be in an armouring book for newbies?
I would say target "the basics". In other words, minimum armour to get someone on the field.
Include things like:
- Where to buy steel for armour?
- Type of steel
- Minimum tools
- Things you can use in place of fancy armouring stakes
Include lots of step by step with pictures!!

Buying Steel for Armour
So, I am planning to go down to a local metal supplier.
When I walk in and say, I want to buy some 12 ga mild steel (or stainless steel) . . . will they understand what I am asking for?
Or is there a more accurate way to ask?
(BTW is $0.75/lb a good price for remnants?)

Newbie Question: Making a helm
I would like to try to make my own helm, a sugarloaf like this: http://armourarchive.org/patterns/sugar_loaf2_sinric/
I plan to buy the top helm halves from Rough from the Hammer.
What tools would I need to make the helm? (looking to keep it to a minimum)
Any other suggestions?
