Re: What patterns do people want to see in a pattern archive

Hey, welcome back. :) I've got a pattern for hourglass gauntlets, but they've got fingers, not mittens shaped like fingers. Thank you, kind sir. I'd love to see your pattern. I'm most interested in the cuff and metacarpal. I can probably fake the fingers. Also I can weld now, getting my degree in m...

Visor Side Profile Patterns

Does anyone have side profile patterns for Bascinet klappvisors, etc.? Does anyone know if patterns such as this are posted anywhere?

There are 2 or 3 of them in the industrial port section of Long Beach that sell 'drops' by weight.

What do I ask for?

When I go to the local metal yard and ask for 'drops' to make armour, what metal do I actually ask for if I want:

Mild Steel?

Stainless Steel?

Spring Steel?

Spring Stainless?

Linen, its tough and it breathes well.

Simple linen shirt and braes, toss in some chausses (hose) . . . you get the idea.

Re: Caid Winter Crown 2013 Lyst

With only 16 fighters, there were some epic matchups that were very hard fought and very close. Sir Mons definately had the toughest draws of the day (Sven and Kjartan, if I remember correctly). He fought both very close. Sir Ilia and THL Gunther of Orkney were as tough as I have ever seen them and ...

All good points given above.

One more thing. If you are going to wear a gambeson, get a good one. Nothing worse than a cheap or poor fitting gambeson.

Here is my most recent kit, haven't updated for 2013 (still in the Middle East). http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii158/bigfredlab/SCA/my%...

Re: Sword grip too small: fixes?

Try some rubber (gasket type material) or even some thick mousepad (neoprene), then use tennis grip tape (which is also slightly padded) to finish it off.

Will give you a vibration resistant grip!

Sunlight. Nice, dry Sunlight.

Also try rubbing with salt.

If it still continues to persist, try getting a plastic shoe box and filling it with salt, cover, and let it sit for a while.

Show off your 'Soft Kit' 2013!

Most of us desire to look better on the field (and off) . . .

Show off what you are wearing when you are NOT in armour (your "Soft Kit")!

Don't be shy, take the picture, post it here, and inspire others!
