Armour Buckles
Ok I am looking for period correct buckles to strap my new 14th cent harness. I need about 10 to 16 buckles. Any sources for a reasonably priced buckles, out of bronze and or brass. I dont want anything made from pewter.

Cat Brownells makes a solution for browning gun barrels. It works the same way that gun blueing works. I have been making some bone buckles recently using extant medieval buckles as patterns. I was wondering is bone a proper material for medieval buckles? I know I have seen some Roman thru Dark Ages ones, but not medieval.
