Excellent build (builder unknown) from Track of the Wolf kit for the French Type D trade gun.
Beautiful black walnut stock, iron mounted, 42 inch barrel, 20 bore. German silver front site. Will need a replacement rammer, the one included is too small in diameter.

Re: Handseaxes - works in progress
Nice looking knives and good work, but I hate to say they bear little resemblance to originals. They should be whittle tang construction and have typical European wood grips. I have never seen an original seax with riveted scale handles.

Any helpful hints on doing rope work edging on 16th century armour? I know some was done with a chisel, but I am wanting to do this with a file.

Re: WTT for Walther P-38 or Mauser 98k
Soviet captured Mausers run the gamut on quality, markings and suitability for re-enactment. I have owned them with all markings peened, but I have also owned them with no Soviet markings, other than being reserialed. The average price for a Soviet capture with markings is hovering around $300 to $3...

Re: Preferred Wood Finish?
Yes.. flax seed oil is HIGHLY toxic.. that's why they sell it in health food stores and use it as medicine. I know you are just being Maeryk and trying to prompt Bob into a cyberfight. However, Maeryk, I am sure you know that most commercially available linseed oil wood finishes contains metal salt...

Glad to help out! Clang helped be build a baskethilt for a 17th century hanger last fall. I wanted to secure it with a square nut, but finding one was almost as difficult as making the basket. Luckily, we have a small old fashioned hardware store close to where I live and he had a small stock of &qu...

WTS/WTT 1863 Sharps Carbine
Made by IAB in excellent condition. This is not one of the bad IAB rifles. It has sat for years in a gunsafe, has small amount of rust on the buttplate, the bore is like a mirror. I have shot this 25 times straight with no leaks or hangups. Dead on accurate at 100 meters. I would like $550 shipped o...

Have any old miniatures laying around? Want to turn them into cash, or even better accurate belts? I have several buckles on the work bench, along with some horsehide straps. I would be willing to make you a belt in trade for your miniatures.

You do not want the nails to clinch in this type of sole, it would be very hard to remove them for repairs at a later date. I have put in 1000's of nails in shoes over the years and never needed to clinch them.
