WTS 17/18th Century Doglock Musket

Doglock musket from Loyalist Arms that has been heavily reworked. The barrel has been browned along with the lock and the lock has been tuned for better operation. I have replaced the rammer thimbles with thin sheet brass thimbles and tapered the ramrod channel with correct style rammer. The buttsto...

Could you please give some more infor on the tunics? Size, color, etc. Pictures? Roman tunics were typically @#$%ing large. Meaning they will fit anyone from a 38 chest to a 50 inch chest. These are that size Off hand, I think there is a faded red linen tunic with black clavi and a brownand grey he...

Made by myself several years ago. The blade is hand forged (I think leaf spring) with hand filed final polish. Hilt is copied from pieces recovered at Vindonissa in Switzerland, walnut cross and walnut pommel. The grip is made from light colored maple. Scabbard is constructed of two pieces of basswo...

IMHO is much too high for a sporterized rifle. It will be near impossible to restore to original condition, since Norwegian stocks are VERY rare here in the US and importing one will be very expensive.

Yup, that will work, but constructing a tent over the ammonia and brass will give you better results. You can do this by rolling up a cone of construction paper or poster board. If you are careful, you can heat the ammonia and get even better results. This is highly dangerous if you breath the fumes...

Ishmel,

Fountain Hobby Shop carries it, or they did a one time. You can also expose brass to ammonia fumes and it will tarnish.

Got one of my first scuti out in the garage and I thought I would pass it along to someone who could use it. Its like the one in this pic, but shows some wear and tear. Black and White Armour Question

I know that B&W armours hayday was deeply rooted in the 16th century. However, I am curious if it was still in use during the first quarter of the 17th century? I have seen examples of B&W morions dated to the first quarter of the 17th century, but I am leary of the dating.

FWIW I do know that it was not uncommon to see hats cocked this way in the early to middle of the 18th century. My cocked hat is arranged with three hook and eye sets, so I can put the brim down in a storm or in bright sunlight.
