Ismael,

I prefer these http://store.tremontnail.com/cgi-bin/tr ... ?mv_arg=36

I have also taken regular nails and reshaped them on my anvil.

I believe if a person would use split planks, instead of sawn it would provide more strength.

When you start to speculate on what they "may" have done, you venture into the realm of fantasy. Why not go with the hard physical evidence that have? No, it's not like saying that at all--we know the Romans had the technology, and they also liked making things out of leather. They did not...

D. As Dan said, there is absolutely no evidence to support leather breastplates. That is what I was getting at, sorry if I was unclear. \ Freiman, I am also interested in you sources. I have been studying scores of archeological reports, and numerous sources on Roman armour for the past 5 years. I h...

The proper term is Lorica Farbulata es Hollyweirdus!

Its pure fantastical speculation there is no evidence that they ever existed outside of the film industry.

Black Bear Hide

I picked this up for the purpose of working on a Signifer impression. Its a older piece, but still in decent condition. There are a few bare spots in the fur, but over all would make a excellent field grade Signifer hide. I will add some photos later. I am asking 100 shipped for it in CONUS, or plus...

WW1 and WW2 German Fighting Knives (Replicas)

I have 3 reproduction German fighting knives for sale. Yes, I know there are 4 in the photo, but I have already sold one. All of the blades are functional, and not the decorative pieces coming from India. These will hold a good edge. Blades are marked with German markings. They are good for WW1 and ...

T. Remember, until the mid 19th Century ALL guns were Single shot. After the shot, whether a hit or miss, a man had to rely on his hatchet (tomahawk) and long knife, Just as any Medieval man might have to do. Clinker, I have to disagree with you on this statement. I have seen several original doubl...

I have worn two pairs of center seam moccasins and got decent results that way. I wear a nice thin wool sock, and then a heavier wool sock inside. Makes me wonder if this method would have also been used in the Middle Ages.

Ok, I guess I did open a can of worms. Call me biased here, but I believe CLANG builds the best 1st cent Roman helmet. Marks pieces capture the look better than anyone else. Icefalcon, and Adam you both produce excellent work, but I still do not think they capture the feeling that Marks work does. A...

Scorpius, I am not being insulting. I am very picky about Roman equipment, and I have not seen any other armourers producing anything that comes close to actually looking like a 1st century Roman helmet. As I have said all the other reproductions fall seriously short, and end up looking like a carto...

Reproduction WW2 Luftwaffe Belt Buckle

Found this in a box of stuff I no longer need, or use. Super high quality meant to fool collectors. Not your regular made in India/China reproduction buckle. Painted green, and aged to look field worn. Unlike other reproduction buckles, this one comes with the leather tab found on originals. Leather...
