Guys I will try to post some photos later this evening.

Steve it gets about 28 to 35 miles to the gallon in warm weather. Cold weather is harder on Beetles and it goes down some there.

Mark Baker shows how to make oil skin tarps in one of his videos for "Longhunter" re-enactors. However, I would highly suggest that you do not get near any flames! They are highly combustiable. Also be sure to let it completely dry 100%, or as close as you can get. A guy that I used to tre...

Boner, dude, they've dug up burials of crucified men, 1st or 2nd centuries AD, which not only exhibit nails, but really big nails stuck right through the bones. I would be interested in seeing any information you may have on this Konstantin. I have only found sources for one find of a crucifixtion....

People keep forgetting Medieval armies relied on horses for transportation and combat. A spider migration would bring any expedition to an end in a hurry, as the horses would refuse to go where they were so long as a horde of them were there. Thats what I would call "Plain Ole Horse Sense"

Really? Where? I'm not being an ass, in fact I'd love for you to be correct! Newstead, and Carnuntum both had finds of manicas. I know the Austrian find could be considered from the Dacian campaign, but IMHO more than likely not. I went back and checked my sources! There was a nearly complete one f...

For any Roman, a manica on each arm is a mistake. There's only evidence of them being used in one campaign, against a scythe-type weapon, and that was only on the sword arm. Now a gladiator persona, thats a different story. Wrong! Manicas have been found in context with military use other than the ...

Farooq,

You will need at least 14 gauge, and then I imagine that will bend easier than you would like.

I know it would be expensive, but you might be able to find some bronze thats been hardend, and use it.

The *only* instance I can possibly think of, and this is even a stretch, since there is no direct evidence, is that British Celts sometimes made bad copies of Roman armor, mostly out of leather. The Romans had plenty of iron, the Celts didn't, and there are instances where the Romans would bury goo...
