Re: Helmet cleaning

It looks like mild steel with some sort of paint.
A magnet will let you know for sure.
If its just fungerprints a flannel or cotton cloth should let you remove them with just a little water.
Rub it down with a dry cloth to ensure its dry.

What material is the helm made of? What's coatings, paints, or finished are on the helm now? Usually finger prints are skin oils that can be removed with a lint free cloth or coffee filter. Some pieces come covered in a protective layer of oil that serves to reduce rust but transfers to everything w...

What type? Personally I think the silo flex/ #5 drilled rubber stopper are fairly quick. home depo/lowes for straight lengths of silo flex and a lab supply company for the stoppers. The fiberglass from argentloupus with balder blunts and ApD are a bit more expencive but still are fairly quick to make.

it depends a bit on where you are. Icefalcon and munition grade arms are common on the east coast centeral USA. Shipping costs are reasonable under a certain length. West coast has a few other options. Shipping to Europe, Asia, Africa, Pacific rim, and NZ/Australia can get expencive. At that point i...

A lot of church brass have a clear lacquer or varnish to help avoid tarnish. Start by roving the loose dust with air and a cloth and look at the construction of the piece. I did a quick look at the membership rolls and could not find any one with "krenn" in there user name
even searching for "Salzburg" in the posts brought up mostly things dealing with either calontir crown in 06 or a particular museum/cathedral in Germany.

you should be able to add a metal disk around 12-14" to the handles/yolk when lifting the crucible by the lugs.
They should act as shields and help to deflect some of the heat.

Smokers and comercial holding cabinets reach temp for what your doing.
Secondhand they are fairly reasonable.

Your option may work but you may endup with hot spots.
A small vent may help provide convection.

A wooden frame built like a counter top or workbench should be strong enough. 3x4 Plywood and 2x3 or 2x4s with cross bracing. Eye hooks and S hooks or cargo straps should work you could extent the frame arms a it or add tubes/pipe to add handles. The arms may then be used in an A frame setup to hold...

Most if us buy sheet metal and work it cold, with the accasional normalizing cycle. all you really need is to reach 1250 or so and let it cool slowly. This is the point steel starts to glow.
