actualy I think the biggest thing is that not all 16guage is 16guage a lot is sold a little thinner. also the metal thins a bit as its polished and refinished over time.

actualy the deformation caused by heating is probibly due to uneven heating or cooling

for 14 guage or bigger I use the 3m snips
for everything else.
I use dykes (also known as diagonal cut pliers) with a grove cut to except the wire.

sounds like it needs to be annealed before continuing work.
drilling out the crack works well after all that how they patch the cracks in auto glass.

if you want you can re fill the whole at a latter point by backing the spot with a piece of ceramic and welding over the whole.

a flask of wiskey with shot glasses and some dried frute

salt water and flour will work make a salt dough bake and then dremmel out the shape. it will smoke a little so do it out side the first time or two.

there is a rubber that will work for pewter but now quite shure what its called.

looks like a large opening at the back of the head once you have it padded. althought the ridges make it look a little like a falice.

start off with the welding distributors and then move on to the larger scrap yards.

make shure to mention you only need the bottom few inches. tell them exactly what you ar going to use them for if they seam a little nervious.

judging by the last post trying to use it for any type of sparing I would sugest rattan. it will last a bit longer then most hard woods and does not splinter so when it breaks. althought iron wood may also work well that is one I have not yeat tried.

this is the green varity about 1/16 thick and an od of 3/8 or 1/2.
looking for the larger tips for rapier combat.

heavery cotton thread and a triangular nedle I find mine in a varity pack. thread with a whip stich one the edge or a sadle stich and then stich about every 4 rows or so depending on the weight and wear.

not legal the socity page states that a kingdome can increase the requirments but can not drop below socity minimums. as for the guage thing there are a few different guage standards set up and that is why the socity mentions both 16 guage and .o625 so in reality the seller needs to do a little more...
