if you want to try somthing a littl rougher check out granular flux for sub merged arc welding.
mostly silaca based so it should work in therory.

mail question

what diamiter mandrill do I need for .30
.23 and .016 wire? found about three spools of each at the weld shop on discount for about 75 each for the small spools
also does any one have a pattern for mail gloves for sca fencing?
also what would make a good mandrill for wire that small?

actualy I think that there are several guage systems set up to measure sheet meatal and wire. could just be a different systym?
either way if its for sca combat grab the number off the marshals hand book I think its listed in mm and inches

Ok started cross traing for sca combat by taking up rugby. a single pratice has more running and hitting then the woods battle at pennsic. what other sports do you play that add to your fighting skills? our fist game is saterday vs niagra university in western NY. also any ideas for tee shirt slogan...

what where you using for heat?
it sounds like it could be hydregon cracking. if thats the case you will need to preheat for about 4 hours at 375-400 degrees
and post bake for about the same. at least thats what needs to be done when welding not quite shure abotu hot working it though.

rivet setter's tied on with about a 30 inch cord.
rivets and burs in seprate pockets shaped something like a chalk bag for rock climbing.
same for solid rivets and the quick rivets.

the fastest I have sceen depends on the project the fastest weavers I have sceen weave on a small pillow working one link at a time making squares,triangles and dimonds.
stitching them together to form the armour.

run a search for it on ebay and all varities of sheet metal you should find somthing. althought the tooling to do it is a little expencive unless your running a lot of them.

sounds like cold working the steel has caused stress to develope in to a twisting of the metal try heating the piece with a toarch if you have one and if not fight with it a little longer.

aluminum also work a little differently then mild steel it needs to be annealed a lot more to prevent tearing.

go to canadian tire and pick up a mud flap for a shipping truck
cut out your desing and then put in 2 layers of closed cell foam duck tape on to your weapon.

because of the design it will add a lot of weight compared to the purched ones. it is also easly or add to much weight.

keep the blower on the portable forge a if there is any pitting in the pan sell the rest and rebuild the pan. as for hammers replace all the handles remover all the surface rust if pitted there is a bit more work.

make shure your mold is dry and check the weight. lead is a quick way to go over weight.

made it to fight pratice first time in a while one of the fighters sead that the 90 degree rule was going out and being replaced with no excessive force.
when did this happen? it could also be just a kingdome thing but I doubt it.

for the brass scence it is not a structural part of the helm you can probibly bet a way with .030 or higher also if using cast make shure you anneal the brass when working it to avoid tearing once rivited to the helm.

usualy for a helm you want 14-12 for sca use. for body armour usualy 16-18 dpeneding on the hardness and how much you want for weight.

in aethealmark we split the autherization paper work half goes to kingdome mol and the other half is your temparary card until the laminated one gets mailed out. read the rules of the list and then read them again. and you should be fine. autherization is to make shure you are safe both to your opon...

saw my brother NUG get lifted up and thrown back about 5 feet at the pennsic bridge battle last year. He weiged in at around 300 before armour and was standing in the seckond line when he got hit.

not quite shure but using cement for a filler may were over time. lead brass or zink would last much longer. clay would also work well but the clay would eventualy dry out and give off lots of dust.
as for the dishing hammers I think that they are using the username ironwood kind of ironic
