next time get inspected buy a marshal you know. this helps a lot. expecialy if you for get a picture id.
I have sceen this done a bit with goof tubes but thats about it.
I have sceen marshals strike the inspection card and take an autherization. but usualy thats for other infractions.

I find that glazed bake ware workes well usualy found at the local thrift store.
how well would glass eachant work? I have never tried it on metal but it's supper easy for glass.

the rising shot can be mean the jump shot can also hurt you it brings things up to a more open target area. but it shocks the hell out of many fighters when there opponent jumps up and adds another foot it opens a lot of shots to the head and back if you can get the snap right.

it all depends on what your going to use it for. for decoration or moderate use it will work fine. for combat use somthing else. if your working it cold expect to spend a lot of time. with working it hot tempering it is a bit different then mild steel. check out keenjunk.com for more information. sw...

one of the most versitile methods for mounting a shear is to go to the scrap yard and get a piece of I beam cut of the bottom piece so its more of a T drill out holes for mounting and through it in the vice.

trade it to some one that wants a wall hanger or a mantal decoration.
or better yeat use it as a model when you make one that will fit right. it sounds like you will put in just as much time and effort in to rebuilding that one as it would take to construct one your self.

runing a chainmail strip around it. curently working on one with a dubble weave in 3/8 rings. very stiff. also you can do the same thing with leather if you can find it thick enuff. ran accrost some at pennsic that was over quarter inch thick.

what kind of work are you planing to do?
heavey work gloves wear differentley then others tig gloves work very well for most things they are light and very abrastion and heat resistant. but do not protect as much from heat as many heavey gloves.

go for the mig.
gas is not very expencive for co2 but argon and the rest adds up in a hurry.
a large bottle of co2 should last about a month if you weld 5 hours a day every day.
curentley Im paying about 1.20 a pound for mig wire and around 4 for flux core.

I rember some one sugesting the use of high presure gas caps off of oxigen bottles as mushroom stakes. has any one tried this. would filling it with brass or aluminum make them more resistant to denting?
