It depends on shape and how the garment is tailored.
Often trunk shapes don't work on people with curves.
Modern SCA tend to be more late period German then early English in body type.
People can overcome this issue by having it build custom or having help tailoring the garment to fit.

Re: *Important* What armors sell the best?
Depends on what you making and quality of the product. UGO sells armour as fast as he makes it. Thining depends on how much the material is moved and how much planishing and sanding you do. A slack belt sander with a 80 grit takes a lot more material the steel wool. Because its hammer formed you end...

Often enough to talk with the scrapyard, and leave a list. Anvils, shears, slip rolls, bar benders, stakes, hammers. Drops of steel and stainless. Copper and brass kick plates. Aluminum street signs. Smaller motors and pullys. Hobby to contractor grade tools. Saws, lathes, and drill presses. Larger ...

If you need a heavier hammer or mallet you may need a thicker matt. I have been using hockey pucks lately for punching holes and strap ends. Fairly useful if your limited on space or travel with your project. If your bench or work table flexes try working over the leg or building a better bench. Any...

You want something softer than your stamp.
Brass may work, or you sometimes can get lucky with eBay.
Larger plastic, dead blow hammers, or wooden/leather mallets like garland/Thor, or Greene and tweed.
Bowling pins may also work.

What all do you need? The jacket, and hood are something you can make yourself. It takes a little sewing but a few people in the Hael can walk you through it. The jacket from ZWA is a little heavy for what we do. A doublet/shirt combo also makes thing easier to wash and is a lot cooler at events lik...

Otto has been doing ok with keeping up with current orders but back orders have not showing much improvement in the past few months.

The smallest two are a little on the light side for 16 gauge cold rolled steel. Annealed or hot rolled should be easier. Having a supplier of scrap definitely would save you a few bucks. If you have an arbor press or drill press a jig should speed up punching holes. As for dye vinagroon is fairly easy and makes a decent black dye cheap. Though you likely will want a seperate space for dyeing the leather. Vinagroon is ...

Also check your blankets, some wool blankets have real value.
The last one I brought home from goodwill was a Hudson bay 5 1/2 point.
Some of the old army blankets are valued by civwar reinactors because they are close to the original design.
