That could be bad... Thor. What this thread is telling me, though, is that many of the SCA chiv (there's a LOT) who post, read/lurk here either consider themselves blameless, or are else too wimpy to fess up to their more asinine moments. Good thing you're not asking them to 'fess up to their social...

The sin of man refers to mortal sin versus breaking a game rule. Holding is not a sin in the NFL but it is against the rules.

When I get down I think of the friends and family that keep me going in the SCA. Good luck in ALL your endeavors. Thor. After some issues this past fall I pretty much divorced myself from the SCA. I have done both, all for the same reason, all with the same end result. Some learn through pain, some through persuasion. I am not above reproach, I am flawed. Huh, This makes no sense to me. People cheat it paintball all the time for victory. It's why I quit playing. Cheaters prospered, and they should not be able to do so. Chivalry dictates that we fight against that. In this game we hope and trust that our opponent is honorable and calls their blows but...

I am the Trimarian Earl Marshal. I would have no problem with them at all as long as they don't stick out 3 inches and don't come to a sharp point. Sport fighting IS period/historic, with Batons, steel, whale bone, and wood clubs. Knights even had sport armor... If the SCA with it's large timeline were to do force full shots with steel we would need to up the standard for armor and we cant even agree on a standard for appearance. Thor.

I am of the opinion that EVERY practice is a public demo, somebody is going to see us for the first time and you only get 1 first impression. Thor. Someone actually suggested that a good grace period would be to only enforce at events, not practices. Also, a 6 month grace period wouldn't be an issue.
