Fabric Question

I have just made a new viborg shirt. Unfortunately it doesn't have a gorgeous weave to show off. The question I have is how period correct would something like Wool Melton be? Its basically a felted wool with no real pattern in the weave. (At least not an apparent one.) The time period is early 11th...

Egfroth. This looks absolutely gorgeous. I am in love with your tunic.

My wife says she won't do it though and I can't embroider. (I'm still learning the basics and am not nearly ready for a project like this.)

What time period is that tunic based from?

Well you asked for more questions. Its your own fault. 1. Is there any way you could get pictures or show diagrams of how you made the saddle. I'm absolutely infatuated with it and will make one whether I have a horse to put it on or not. (Might be a good thing to have around the camp. Just say the ...

I was wondering though if you might have and be willing to share pictures that show how you put the bridle and saddle together. A friend of mine has asked I help them put together a period kit for th...

Viborg Tunic

After thinking alot I am currently making a new Viborg shirt though I will admit to cheating slightly. My fabric while it is wool isn't all that great and it doesn't have a magnificent weave to show off. (Ok. I admit. Its a modern fabric. It was on sale and I'm poor. Its called Wool Melton I believe...

Where can I find pewter blanks so that I can try some minting of my own? I probably won't do reproductions but something based on originals.

The one site listed above doesn't seem to have blanks for sale.

So we can use the Thorsberg or the Rus pattern. Those are the only patterns we know of really.

Pants haven't changed pretty much in a very very long time. So I can the Thorsberg pattern being very similar to pants used in the 11th century.

Just minus the belt loops. (Never liked belt loops)

Every person who pre regs gets 250 sq feet. Regardless if they are in a camp or not. Single campers have the same space as a camp. Yes you are supposed to abide by the 3 foot rule for fire safety. Can go to 14x16 for couples. So far the only complaint we have is that we don't have a...

I know someone who could do a tent like this and in that size. She doesn't do it professionaly but she does great tents and sells some every year at pennsic.

Her work is pretty good and she makes odd heights as well. Like 7 foot walls. Partially cause her lord is 6'5"
