Is there any way I could get a closer picture of the tent heads shown earlier? I really want to take my current wedge and make an A frame for it but I refuse to do so until I have a good pattern to use for the tent heads. I was also wondering if someone could show how the walls are tied down as well...

I have what may be a stupid question.

Are these designed for being worn on the list field with a pair of period turn shoes or something of the sort?

Megge? She wouldn't be the shortish girl that came with you a few times? Has screw rivets in the shoulder straps of her armour?

Unfortunately I doubt we'll make Winter War. No ride to get there. Otherwise we'd love it.

I've had my wedge at pennsic for several years. Even during some really nasty windstorms. The surplus military tent 20 feet away went down. My wedge stayed up. It is mostly knowing how to get your tent set up is what I see. That and aerodynamics. Wedges and yurt like round tents are going to have gr...

I actually did a single test of a waxed linen paned latern. While it did provide decent light it also provided a wonderful excuse to get myself a new fire extingusher as well. Seeing as I had heard that it might be flammable I set it in the middle of nothing on a concrete floor in the basement, lit ...

Can't be Gwen. To many teeth showing. (I apologize to hockey fans and players but the door was opened. I just had to step through.) I have to say that personally I play pretty much how Olafr said. Sure some of what I do is romanticized. Most of what I try to do is period. I'm not perfect. I disagree...

Halvgrimr. Think fairly rich merchant. As in can afford quite a collection of custom made woven trim as well as a fairly heavy glass bead necklace for his mjolnir.

Would someone from Hedeby around 1020 be dressed similarly? I really would like to know so that I can have a base idea of what I should be doing for my clothing.

As interpretation changes of the artifacts so do the interpretations about culture and lifestyle. I can deal with that. There is very little that can change about most of the things I use though. If I'm fighting a pole arm I use a simple tactic that I loose with 50% of the time. I rush them and use my shield to keep their pole arm down.

Like I said. Half the time I end up dead. Its the other half that I seem to remember when I do it though. *laughs*

In Aethelmearc, as far as I know, in order to carry two weapons I'd need to be authorized florentine.

Also I wouldn't be grabbing a secondary weapon with my left hand. That is the hand the primary weapon goes in.

Unlike most people I am in my right mind.

Mord. No offense but I'd rather stay in the north. Micklagaard has this nasty climate condition. Its called heat. Lots of it.

Snaebjorn means Snowbear. That name is not an accident.

If I go with maille which seems the most likely I will be going with riveted maille. I like how it looks more then the butted maille.

Thick woolen tunics huh? Well...I can manage that for winter. Perhaps I should look into doing something that replicates the look for summer but isn't as heavy...
