She has an outfit with a similar shaped under dress and a sideless surcoat, but the dress has 'angel wings' and they are the target of much frustration and occasional hatred. Hmm, I'm seeing a trend here- 3 executioners wearing separate / attached sleeves. Interesting. Fact or artistic convention? Coincedence, I think, rather than overall trend, and perhaps based on the illustrators/artists' observations of the clothing of butchers and/or executioners. Plenty of example...

BTW, Brent's late 15th century image is most likely depicting a doublet with pointed on sleeves, (sleeves taken off for labour) which appears by mid century in German sources (notoriously Talhoffer), and becomes more widespread by the end of the 15th century. http://larsdatter.com/hose.htm has some medieval images showing the loosed points on the back, as well as 14th century (and early 15th century) illustrations with the hose tied to the pourpoint/doublet (or related torso garment, whatever you call it) :wink:
