Here's a book list you may want to include: http://geocities.com/scademoteam/juviebooks.htm
We'd developed it a few years ago, so there may be newer books that would be interesting to young readers as well.

Also banners like the Ghent banner*, circa 1460-70 are painted on quite heavy canvas, not prone to lovely swirling silk like flow, but this was the city banner so if Ghent were using canvas it might say soemthing about why. * Karen 'she-who-rocketh-verily' Larsdatter's site has a fair pic. I suspect that the transition towards breeches/braies with a fly was around the era when hose were attached to a doublet or pourpoint, rather than the breeches/braies. Re: Best pouch style for the 1100/1200s?
It depends on what sorts of things you intend to keep in your pouch; my linkspage at m is a bit light on the 12th & 13th centuries, but there's a few reliquary and/or liturgical purses, alms-purses, and even a few satchels. Kidney pouches seem to have come along later -- assuming if you mean the...

Sure -- there are depictions of livery collars dating to the 14th century. See Richard II on the left panel of the Wilton Diptych , for example. There's a collar of esses on Sir John Swinford , who died in 1371; it appears to have started as a symbol for the followers of John of Gaunt, and then gets...
