You can see some livery collars at m -- there's generally a pretty standard set of links involved with the various orders (or the Lancastrian esses, or Yorkist roses-and-suns). There's certainly also the more decorative collars (like the ones Henry VIII seemed particularly inclined towards wearing i...

Re: Surnames
It gradually fades from records in the 14th century and into the 15th, but still appears periodically to this day. (It happens [IMHO] because the records stop being in Latin and start being in English.) It seems to parallel the drop of "le" in occupational & descriptive surnames. See m...

I guess (if it were me) I'd make a pouch -- see m and scroll down to the square-based pouches. And perhaps something to put in the pouch, though I am trying to think of a particularly good idea. Definitely. I think the close-fitting one will be especially well-suited for your heraldry. The examples at http://larsdatter.com/mens-surcoats.htm will certainly help you consider the placement of the cinquefoils & stripes on a white surcoat (or jupon, or whatever)

Check out m -- I'd especially recommend taking a look at Janet Arnold's "The Jupon or Coat-Armour of the Black Prince in Canterbury Cathedral" in the 1993 Journal of the Church Monument Society (which you ought to be able to get via Interlibrary Loan). Can't get to your Facebook photos (I'...

A lot of focus has been put on how the kit looks, but how did people carry it when they weren't wearing it? Check out this image from the Wolfegg Housebook: m I suspect the armor (what's not being worn by the men) is in the wagons that look like they're made of wicker. The narrower wagons, the ones...

m is a list of women's names from around that time, but it does provide some useful sources in the bibliography.
