I have the shirt and after almost 2 years of a lot of use, I have a few worn spots in the arm pits and some of the padding is detaching from the shirt. Still great stuff... Word of advice, hand wash it and hang it to dry, the dryer seems to wear out the glue or attachement of the padding to the shir...

Looking for a new boots
I am inquiring into having some boots made for SCA Heavy fighting. I am looking for a Late Roman look, and yet have them sturdy enough for the rigors of fighting. I have some Catskill Boots, however after years of fighting, the toe has worn through and the tread is falling apart. I have looked into ...

After spending many hours on my scale shirt, I can say that it is labor intensive and pretty heavy as well. There are a number of materials needed to make a scale as compared say a chain shirt. This is what I have figured on a practical sense while making my scale shirt which I still need two more r...

Why do you fight? There are many reasons why I fight the main one is when I put my armor on that I have researched, swet, and bled all over for, I become my true self. We all wear different faces in different places like at work, with family and so on. When I fight, I can be truly myself, and for me...

For the past six months or so I have working on Manica for SCA use. One of my first problems I used to wide of bands and it just did not look right. I am using .032 spring steel which will make the Manica more closer to how they were since they were made out of pretty thin metal. I am still working ...

I made my Bazubands by following House of the Wolf's tutorial. I shaped the while wet. I used rabbit glue and baked them for a period of six hours and brushing on the glue on them every 15 minutes or so. I have sheep skin for the padding and I have no bruises or isuues at all. I was slammed several ...

I started out in Tae Kwon Do around 81 and my Master was from Seol Korea. His english was not so good an he was taught in the traditional way so it was not easy. Have you looked into Lamellar or Scale armor even? Russians if I am not mistaken used a lot of Lamellae and Scale during that time. Titainium can be very tough, but also very brittle. Sometimes it is a good thing that the metal on a helm either has some give or flexibility to it. I would be wary using titainum as a bargrill and its not easy to shape and weld together. Just make sure after you make the grill you put it through so...
