WMA, a lot of people miss out on the simple but frustration-reducing technique of laying the helmet half on a flat surface to mark a straight cutting line around it. You might want to make a specific post about it.

In the old days before I discovered Ron Simmons and Cet, I used spun domes as raw material. I got mine from Red Falcon (I don't think he sells them anymore, though), and they did NOT have a hole in the top. I know a few people who have the Grizzly 2 x 72" "Knifemaker's" belt sander and like them. I plan to get one myself as soon as my new shop's done and I have room. They run about $350 shipped. From a historical standpoint, the basest rule is this: Anything prior to about 1510 had rolls to the outside, and anything after had rolls to the inside. For you guys (like me) that have an AC only stick source, use 7018AC rods for high-strength welds. They weld 10 times easier than regular 7018's with an AC only machine. This is a really neat book, and hard to find in decent condition. It has lots of pics of full harnesses, and is heavy on Maximilian armor.
