Visited the Bishops Palace in Wells yesterday and took some nice photos of the Glastonbury chair. Quite strange being able to handle something that old!

How about a warrior(knight/crusader) of Outremer for that period? I believe (because I haven't checked ) that Outremer was still extant at that point. One imagines that the Outremers may well have gone native in military garb, as many did in civilian clothing. Might this not be the answer. (No, I ca...

Simon de Montfort was born in France in about 1208. His father was a large landowner, but when he died he left his land to Simon's older brother Amaury. The de Montfort family had owned land in England in the past and Amaury suggested that Montfort should visit Henry III in to see if the land could ...

Sorry, NOT a hunchback - doctored photos - he may have one shoulder slightly more developed than the other, but as he was a keen archer this would have been natural. Examination of skeletal remains have shown that in many one shoulder (the right?) is heavier boned, to take the extra muscle developed...

But I do believe that Dick III wanted to make failure to turn up for commission of array a capital offence, naughty man. See all this wild speculation and false allegations serve to make him guilty as charged, and as he didn't win, hey ho. Henry V11 rocks Nay Sir! I say thee Nay! Richard III became...

In a lot of LH groups you would have to follow the groups rules for this (In many it is just a matter of saying "I'm Sir so and so.....) In the Hastings period, I believe that formal knighthood, as recognised by most people, didn't really exist, especially with regard to the title Sir (I may be gros...

I must ask though, how factual is the Kenneth Brannagh film Henry V in its depiction of Agincourt? I love the film for its entertainment value and for the battle scenes, but never placed much faith in it as an accurate depiction of the events. Dave Dave, remember the Brannagh film (and I loved it t...
