Well - the rocket I suppose. I like the bra, but I don't think I'd do it justice. Perhaps the wife............ $26 dollars now, by the way. Seriously, the bra would appeal to the more daring female LARPer , of that I have no doubt!
OK guys,
whose the best/most reasonable/cheapest weaver of rings out there. Cat has caught my eye, and her stuff is nice. SOmeone was offering a mail shirt fairly cheap a while ago - they still around?
So, had a go at a del. Pattern- drawn onto fabric with tailors chalk and straight edge (Red Kaganate based) This is essentially the outer shell. No lining, or ties as yet. Took about 2 - 3 hours to cut and stitch to this point. Fabric is a fairly heavy cotton, with slubbing, that I happened to have ...

Hey how's things?
Nice work!
In my mercenary merchant capacity I offer my services as your UK/European agent for distribution of book/video/dvd.
Give me a PM!
Right, that's it! Mr Bascot, Mr Animal, kindly continue to this thread....... http://forums.armourarchive.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=43648&highlight= With due respect to both of you, this is a thread about unusual armour. It demeans you both and is not kindly to your honour to continue this discussi...
Since it would appear that open warfare is about to break out would you mind starting another post! I want to get back to the armouring materials! Thank you for your co-operation.
Yeah, I know you didn't actually say that, it just seemed that way I find that the structure and society of tribal peoples far more interesting than the more "civilized", developed medieval cultures. They seem to maintain their integrity, for want of a better word, whereas the developed nations, as ...
nice work Hal, I like it!
You can link to outside sites if they have more details of what you're selling. I guess that your link might broadly do this!
i.e. "Click here for more details"
No constructive comments I'm afraid, but plenty of encouragement!! Looks awesome - go for it - and remember - you have to finish this by 7th July!! (this year) And my choice would be the second - more unusual than the Greco one
I think you may find that that qualifies as fighting talk! From what I know - The Tuchux are a brotherhood as opposed to a club. They have their own honour system and lifestyle values. Their honour values may be different from yours, the SCAs or general ones. They still value it highly. They happen ...
Not bought from them - although their answers to queries have been prompt and polite - very helpful.
I believe there bows are Grozer, and therefore subject to a certain mark-up.
Yah - hope to use this persona for steel combat but will shortly (hopefully) be attending my first SCA practice. I may yet end up making my own lamellae. I think Grozer go an adult as well as a childs Scythian, I know Kassai do. On the subject of steel combat - any leads on where I can get a combat ...
Hi Animal, Got the first two links - they are useful - will probably buy bow direct from either Kassai or Grozer in Hungary - a lot cheaper! Lamellar - not keen on the plastic so will be going for leather or steel. Costume - only just started working on it. Made a couple of pairs of shalwar (salwar)...
I'm looking into this and would apreciate sources, pics, advice. Don't forget it wasn't just the Mongols, though.
Anyone got a copy of Pechenegs, Cumans & Iasians for sale? Forget author at the moment. The wise Egfroth knows though!
Hi all, In my merchant capacity I've been aske to source a bearded axe approx 30 inches long. The Paul Chen Viking bearded ones look reasonable for the purpose - reasonable priced suppliers? Other suggestions? I think this guy is on a budget, just waiting for him to tell me how much. I still think i...
Arrived this morning, making it about a month turnround time between submitting design and recieving bracelet. Excellent piece of work, well executed. Used my required elements and came up with a nice design. Very pleased - 10/10 all round. Great idea for a special and unusual gift. Wife will love i...
Draz - depending on your time frame, A&C do custom orders as well as their normal stuff. Really looking forward to my helm.
To echo what Irish said - great service and communication.
Try looking into the many varieties of Hungarian/Magyar "Fokos" - theses had various backing implements including spikes, so I would assume that later varieties may well have had a bec style point. They were standard military issue in Hungary until WW1 I believe.
Aaaaah! Go on! I had the brazier on standby and was looking for some iron rod! Opinions and ideas have no function stuck inside my head! They just clutter it up and take up valuable shelf space!
Harsh yes, but rites of passage (if this happened to be the case) generally are. As for burns getting infected - no more so really than any other wound or injury. They would be as used to dealing with it as any other illness or injury.
@twas mere speculation on my part and I could be way off target
Someone mentioned a quote regarding the Picts marking themselves with iron. All appear to have assumed this refered to tattooing. Is it possible that they were branding designs on themselves, possibly as a rite of passage?
