To be honest? Mostly not enough, but I am making a better attempt to "get to know" the new persona I'm working on. Which in some ways is hard, because it's a less documented/mainstream culture. On the plus side I need to save the money for various items I need, as well as make the costume,so I guess...

Back to armour - not SCA I'm afraid - but the most...interesting armours I have seen are these - LARP event - a sort of lamellar/scale hauberk hybrid made from the lids of tin cans (the ones opened with a can opener, so lots of sharp crinkly edges) As we allowed grappling this produced a large numbe...

Yah! Agreed - I've found the same thing myself. One would imagine that a bit of stretch could be useful in some things. Incidentally my wife has just made a small bag - she, carded, span, dyed (where coloured) the wool, and then wove it. She then made the bage and lucetted (her first time) a thinnis...

Cord made this way is pretty darn strong. Many uses I would imagine. With a big enough tool (not like these!) you can fashion rope (useful for various things, especially among a sea-faring race) cords could possibly used for drawstrings for trews, Pointing hose, make small enough cord (thin) like on...

Right, no bones lying around the house but a couple of small horns. Knocked up a VERY quick one, which needs some finishing (horns to be more pointed, possibly bore a hole through the end of horn for cord) However, it does work even with my clumsy fingers and limited luceting experience. OK, not an ...

I believe that Period Patterns #92 or #101 should serve. They term them tabards but as they're worn over armour they're jupons to me :) (or at least adaptable as such)
I suggest Sewing Central - they usually have a good stock.

Salwar - Turk/Mongol/Rus etc pants

Just quickly knocked up a pair of Salwar from pics/pattern on The Red Kaganate site. Hand drew the pattern onto the fabric (100% cotton calico). These are just a test pair really but are rather comfortable. I think they could be a bit longer, maybe a little fuller but I'm quite pleased for what was ...
