In sooth sir, I quarrel with no man, save he quarrel with me. An I should perchance aim my quarrel at another, then it would surely strike true. I bow and bend to none, but will bend a bow to all, should they causeth me offence.

I did say noble. And 26 would have been fairly unusual (Hathaway). Again, like I said, very much era dependent. The shorter the average lifespan (and with the many rigors and tribulations, such as childbirth, I believe women died younger) then I believe I'm correct in saying that the marriage age wa...

Erm, there are three schools, not two. 2. Poll-axe = axe where the back or "poll" of the axe is used Or, indeed, where the axe is specifically furnished with a poll, as opposed to an awl, spike or second blade. GrimB - sorry, perhaps should have send "being specifically mounted on a long pole". As ...

Poll is another (more archaic) word for head. Hence a poll in voting etc and it's use as a term for part of the axe. It is often associated with quadrupeds (horses, cattle, swine etc). Interestingly it is also a term meaning to shorten or cut off the horns of animals, mainly cattle. So, a pole-axe, ...

A dumb question : for a jousting helm the eyeslot is not too wide? Built to customer specifications, for the particular methods in use. I don't question comisssions, I comply with thier requirements. My first thought as well - dangerously wide IMO. But as IS says - customers requirement! (her eyes,...

Fantasy scale "armour" for LARPers (sell it on ebay)
Just shape swatches into a scale shape and attach to a simple tabard of sturdy material.
They can be big scales as well, 4x6 no probs!

Seen it done and it's not bad for its purpose.
