I've read a lot of the Pennsic information over the years, and I have a question I haven't seen asked; what historical sites are within a few hours of the Pennsic site? I know you can't have a ghost camp, but if you went for most of the event, and a couple of different days in there wanted to roam t...

Are the Warlord folks doing that four-in-one tourney again this year, have you hear...

If it's going to be a la mode, then make it pecan pie If it's pie by itself, make it apricot..from dried apricots properly stewed, not the canned stuff. I like pie. However, this fighter-Logan issue hasn't come up in some time, and I fully understand where some not having read past scores of posts o...

I only read a few/some/dozen posts when topics like this and CA come up, so I may have missed this being a regular part of the discussion, but, to throw another log on the bonfire.. Isn't part of a fourth peerage talk a precursor for finding ways besides winning Crown tournaments the way they are cu...

Audax, I literally BOLed at your reply.. I started a thread a year or two ago on state rivalries and how they compare in the SCA.. others posted some of theirs, but I'm still not sure there's any more happy of a union of two such rival states anywhere else in the Known Worlde, as Oklahoma and Texas!...

That we're your well-loved fellow Ansteorrans? OK, I've only read the last 50+ replies in this thread, but there've probably been over a thousand I've read in nearly 11 years here on the AA. I once bought a full kit of CA gear, and got authorized for it, but even when I was still getting out and fig...

My apologies, folks. I've had bronchitis for weeks, finished my second batch of antibiotics a day or two ago, and feel worse now than I did a week ago. I'm going to probably take off later today, go to a cabin and rest, and come back Sunday in time for church. I've traded a lot of e-mails/PMs with A...

Calontir Coronation Pickups?
Greetings!
I saw on the Calontir Coronation website where there were going to be heavy pickups that day..how many Archivers plan on being there?
I'm planning to be up in the far northeast part of OK this next weekend, and KC isn't a huge drive from there.

Murphy's Law Regarding Buying Armor
Does it seem to anyone else that, when you've absolutely no money to spend on armor, that the most incredible buys (like a hauberk for a guy my size for $100,) pops up; yet when you think you could take a little money for such a use, these types of finds are nowhere to be seen? Is it just me? Val

Andrew, First, my caveat; I fully know this is JT's site, and I'm able to post here out of his kindness. He does what he decides to, and it's fully his right. Now, to address part of your exposition; this site isn't a courtroom, and shouldn't be conducted like one. If we were going to conduct all po...

Something Vitus brings up reminds me: I actually liked Steve, based on some of his e-mails, and genuinely hopes he gets well.. he had moments of lucidity where he would amit his failings frankly.. his wife was supposed to, at at least at one point a few years ago, be helping him get back on track. I'm not curently a vendor, and am interested in hearing what the actual ones here have to say, but I think you have unintentionally slighted all the good vendors with the one you/your friend have issue(s) with. Steve gets hammered on these fora every couple of months, but, sadly, there is a reason. He is very skilled, it's just that you may need the equivalent of rolling six natural 20's in a row to see the stuff delivered within a year. If you or your friend really must get rid of money on one of his proj...
