they are about 1/2" narrower on each side.

They both worked well. I'm glad they were up on the website. LOTS better than any of the 37 other kneepads I've tried...

The difficulty with construction andthe inherent weight added by tape, leather, clackers, etc.. is what prompted the 100% contiguous rattan mace.

I've never had a weapon fail because it was over weight. Only once have I had a weapon actually weighed during inspection. It came in well under the max, but it looked scary. It was at pennsic, and my stuff was being inspected by a marshal who had never inspected anything other than a basket hilted...

Have you made a ruling on the shirts as kidney protection, whether they will be approved without additional protection? My 1st phase of testing is complete. It's a done deal, already changed the rule months ago.

The fact was that people could already do it and call it a sword.
We ran a successful experiment.
They tend to be lighter than padding/tape/clacker maces and hit much like a falchion.

All wins for safety.

well, here's a bad marshal story... I used to carry a 3' piece of iron pipe to practice swing warmup with before tourneys. and as for maces, you CAN make a 100% rattan mace from a thick stave thatthe handle has been cut down to.

ie: start witha really thick piece of rattan and cut away anything that doesn't look like a mace.

and no, you cannot glue pieces together.

The reason I ask is what is the difference between the back of a four pound axe and any part of the striking...

The hand is never a legal target. None of those alloowable instances place the hand intentionally in a position where it is a "de facto" target. I can take my sword and knock your shield edge, hook, etc... off but by using your hand you are putting it where your opponent is without option...

So we've seen a clear example that even a perfectly clear and obvious pictorial example can be a source of confusion. The image had three colors, the meaning of two of them was defined.
