soft large head aluminum rivets rock as leather rivets. Easy to peen and less chance to bend over to the side like harder steel rivets.

I made myself an aluminum pavise out of 0.100 thick 6061 t6 aluminum and i welded it together down the middle. Aussie's method is good but if you got a peice thats already formed and dont wanna loose the shape then do what the youtube video shows which employs some of the technique explained by aussie. LF a pexto plate,mine broke
I have a pexto plate thats like 30inches by like 15inches and its at min a half an inch thick and it broke today. I believe it was designed poorly and it was cast from pretty crappy metal. So now i am trying to find a replacement.

Mcmaster carr is the cheapest i have found so far but they only sell max size of 12"by 24" peices. I need at least to be able to get 2ft by 2ft.
