Denting a 12ga stainless top isnt that hard if its the right angle and build of a helmet. really to be able to disable a person wearing chainmail you would have to hit them harder then we hit in the sca except for great weapons and a rare few individuals.(thrusting doesnt count,it doesnt take alot o...

well i have a few cool ideas for bar grills but usually mine are very small because i make the cheeks and stuff so big that it doesnt need much of a bar grill,i hate them alot. As for how hard people are hitting, some places they dont hit hard enough but i have never found anywhere that hits too hard...

nice first BP. 16ga mild isnt exactly light but any thinner and it would dent from a mean look. only other choice is aluminum or spring steel for a lighter BP.

i personally hate how the welds look on the bar grill. Next time i am gonna weld a bar to the mounting plate which will make that weld uniform and easy to clean up then weld each bar right to that bar,it makes a much better product but i just decided to try it this way and it didnt turn out like i w...

most likely what your smelling is the residue from the process,i am surpirsed they didnt dip clean it after. I know a bunch of people that have nickle plated helms so unless they did some weird way of plating yours you should be fine. I would try to clean off any leftover residue if you can find som...

well its still alot of pounding and its hard on the shoulder since your pounding so high up but its still 10 times faster. make my stainless chisel and anvil then its gonna work alot better. I am still working on getting the best design for the anvil.

I built it pretty low to my anvil and my anvil is pretty low,its really not all that high up. I think the next one will be alot shorter for easy of use and i could use this one for breatplates.

this one is 1 inch square tube. I got a bent piece of pipe that is gonna be used for the next one, might use bigger chisel and anvil size with it.

This thing and my bender bar are the simplest tools but do great work.

My fluting tools.(its almost cheating.)

I made a fluting tool that basically is a frame that holds your base that you flute into and holds the fluter and it fits into my hardy hole. This is made of mild steel so my fluter isnt keeping a good edge but i will make one out of stainless when i get it to where i like it. http://www.youtube.com...

if your just gonna use the EW for smoothing out armor it will be just fine, you might wanna reinforce the frame so it can handle the thicknesses of the material for armor.

yeah quick and easy roping can easily look like chisel marks but better then nothing alot of the time. For a good rope you need a big fat round roll then either roll the chisel over the roll or have a rounded head chisel, which is kinda like cheating, wait to you see how much i cheat hehe. (though min...
