Re: FS-mild Fluted top Close helm.

its only the barred visor and definately mild steel. we were guessing on the price since we arnt totally sure who made it though it does look like its probably an illusion helmet. if i made one like this i would charge $1000.00 for it. the helmet is rdy to ship immediately.

Re: FS-mild Fluted top Close helm.

dont know who made the helmet,we think it might be made by illusion. the top is at least 14ga,probably thicker. looks like the visors are at least 16ga and the gorget is around 16ga. its a very sturdy helmet thats been used several times but has no dents from combat.

Re: shield boss material, Leather?

as being an armorer and a marshal i would say i think if done well its possible to make a safe leather center boss for a shield. personally after forming and hardening of the boss i would add in an epoxy or plastic inside the boss to heavily reinforce it. I have been fighting for 16+yrs with only ce...

plastic armor doesnt have to be ugly but most people make it ugly. make a brig but instead of metal plates use plastic and to make it cheaper use a heavy cloth instead of leather.

WTS Stainless lifting visored grill Bascinet.

I traded Mad matt a chain shirt for this Stainless bascinet. When I got it I had matt leave the grill unattached so I could turn it into a lifting visored grill. So I add the visor part to the grill, polished the helmet and shortened the backplate alittle. The grill is mild steel and the rest is all ...

Re: Help me pimp my helve hammer.

Matt it looks like you could extend your spring out farther which would make it flex more and generate more force but it would reduce the unflexed stroke length. moving that in and out to help tune the hammer will help and its a quick adjustment.

Re: Help me pimp my helve hammer.

ok after lookin at the picture the anvil will help a ton. what i did with mine is i built a box below my anvil and filled it with rebar and concrete then mounted that to the ground, that is gonna stabalize your hammer a ton and the anvil weight will make it hit harder. Another good option is some rai...
