Re: Anyone used concrete for press forms?
Yeah i would make the form out of as thick of metal as possible then build a heavy box for it and fill that box with a bunch of rebar then some good concrete and let that concrete cure for like a week in the sun if possible but thats alot of waiting hehe.

Re: Anyone used concrete for press forms?
i filled my dishing form with lead and it is super solid, that might be an option if you can get lead as cheap as i do. or maybe make the form and add a ton of JB weld to it to reinforce it then fill the rest with some high strength concrete. Great idea matt now I am not gonna sleep well til i figure...

Re: I found cheap brest plate to get on the field fast web p
well it maybe ugly but it is cheap.
If you look further there is a 18ga stainless steel breastplate and backplate for real cheap,i would guess the metal alone would cost about half that price.

Re: First video of my powered hammer.
I am not sure if it would help or cause more problems. my biggest problem with that was the drive shaft was too close to the pivot point. 6" out on a 24inch arm,i moved it out to 10" and it runs super smooth now. with the leaf spring i have i can move it out to a max of 11" which i am...

Re: First video of my powered hammer.

Re: Stainless Thracian helm, locking cheek plates, FS
actually the whole helmet was made from 12ga stainless due to the expected ass kickins owen expected to take while normal practice hehe. I can also make new sporty cheeks for this helmet if needed. i will see if i can find pics of the helmet that inspired this helmet.

Re: First video of my powered hammer.
ok i am trying to think so what you mean but i am not sure. the design i made was a quick cheap fix and i am planning on dropping the motor down under the main table and replacing the tire with pulleys and the clutch would be the motor tightening the v belt for power. but i have to buy another set o...

Re: First video of my powered hammer.
here is the mark 2 of the hammer. still got to increase the offset on the cam and change the position of the drive shaft, this will smooth out the action on the wheel because its wearing out the tire in specific areas very fast right now.

1/8th inch thick abs plastic, its very durable and cheap and is very easy to work with as long as you dont heat it to hot.

nice job. i love making hinged cheek helmets though most i make the cheeks meet in the center which allows you to pad them so you dont need a chin strap at all but i have built a couple with bars in front.

well yes it was powered by drill and i planned on running 2 to even out the load but the cheapest foot pedal i could find was $300,so today i returned the drills and bought a 16inch tire and a 2hp motor. due to the motor having a larger shank i have to order the wheel to attach bu early next week i ...

First video of my powered hammer.
First video of my powered hammer. I still need a foot pedal that can handle the amps, need to rebuild the cam shaft and then mount it to the ground because even at 600+lbs it still wants to walk around the shop.
