I am in the process of building my new powered hammer,gonna start taking pictures of the build. As of right now its supposed to be driven by a pneumatic drill but the one i got i dont know if it has the torque i need but that teaches me to buy from ebay on something i am not sure about.

well placing the holes in the right spot after the lames are formed isnt easy,if they are marked that is plenty good enough.

the cast hilts are cheaper and available,for a nice machined hilt it would be very expensive from a machine shop. 100+ dollars per hr,including the programming time and then materials.

i would imagine welded aluminum would be ok for combat but repairing it when a link breaks would be very difficult unless you got the tools for it. Does anyone sell welded aluminum chain?

well i tried to cut stinaless steel today with my bandsaw and if i stopped it would heat up then not want to restart. i use http://www.mcmaster.com/#band-saw-blades/=e8i3fj these are hard carbon steel blades,should i be using something else for stainless.

i have the same harbor freight band saw and it cuts great,its alittle slow but i think it might be the band i use. its a 1/4"wide 24tpi wavy blade from mcmaster carr.

thanks for the info guys,since blades arnt that expensive i am just trying out many types to see what works best and as sort of a noob when it comes to band saws i am learning as i go.
