Re: WTS: Custom Brass-work: Open Queue (pic added)

When any of my customers order brass work with acid etching I have thorfin do it. he is fast and does a great job,he has the eye for the detail so while teaching him armoring he picks it up super fast. I buy stuff from him so everyone else should also hehe.

Re: Helmet Plumes

not only do the crests take at least 10hrs to make the horsehair alone costs alot now. the colored hair is $70.00 per pound and it takes 2 pounds for one crest. so the profit margin on these crests isnt very much at all, that and my carpal tunnel is why a friend of mine makes them for me now.

Re: WTS Mild steel with brass sugarloaf helmet.

anything i could resell easy for armor as for armoring gear,i still need alot of things,so its easier to say what you got or throw me a pic of a pile of stuff and i could say what i could use. the helmet is a good fit for upto a 24inch head, the length is good for an average neck to no neck.

Re: Is my Beverly B2 setup wrong?

ok first you wanna try loosening the 2 big bolts on the assembly with the top blade. i found they have to be alittle loose where they will loosen more with use and have to be hand tightened often. if the shear is still hard to bring the handle down then your blade is rubbing on itself and the 2 bolt...

here in caid you only need 16ga mild steel for helmets, which i personally find too thin. and 16ga is 0.063.

Re: Corinthian Helmet That I Bought

dont add bars thats ugly, add edging around the eyes and mouth. i have made corinthians that the eyes turn out a tiny bit to big but adding the brass, stainless or mild steel edging makes it legal and makes it look better also. not one of mine but an example http://westcoastarmoury.com/wp-content/gall...

well compared to aluminum steel is gonna get destroyed very easy unless you heavily form it with flutes and rolled edges and dishing. if you have the time and the means a steel shield is a possible alternative but if your lookin for cheap shields wood would be your best bet.
