I don't have one, and I don't normally work in that material, but I imagine that 18 gauge in 3/8" size will probably fall apart, even in stainless. Like I said, I don't normally work in that material so I could be wrong. I would suggest getting some opinions on that before buying one.

Try a local scrap yard or junk yard. That's where I got mine for something like 20 cents a pound. Can you perform "surgery" on it? Like maybe split it open with an Exacto knife or something (cut where it won't be seen) and remove some of the stuffing? You could re sew the cut closed after you've taken some out. Just a thought.
