Review: Dagger by Kyle (Hal's apprentice)

First, let me apologize to Kyle for not posting this sooner. I just grabbed the dagger when I got it and ran to my corner so I could have it all to myself. Well, I was playing with it today and realized I had not yet posted a review. Here are the pictures: [img]http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2004-6/...

Guy, a sword would be good, unless you plan on playing the part of "target". :) If so, when you paint your shield, I recommend a red dot in the center surrounded by red concentric circles. I believe that's the heraldry of a "target". :)

Oh, and Thomas, I am very touched at the offer of the "ear pinning". That is so sweet. If only more people would offer to pin ears, this world would be a much better place. Seriously though, (I know I have said this before..) I may get in touch with them. It does me no good to try to track this stuf...

I really like the look of the menpo too, and have also been thinking about making a face. Will it work? I dou...

Crap, I knew I would screw this up. I cut the eyes out because it took forever to measure and mark them, and I didn't want the marker to burn off in the forge. I could have used soapstone, but that wears off too. Don't worry about remaking the tool. I will just do it right the next time. This time I...

Hey all, I'm still working on this visor, and have gotten to the point where I need to bend it. How do I do that? It's 16 gauge stainless, and I can't bend it by hand. Do I need to make the crease deeper? Thanks in advance!! Cat Ps. It still needs some planishing, so excuse the lumpiness. [img]http:...

Sounds good! Now my hubby can spend hours pushing the buttons and making it light up. (Just like he does with the - rather expensive- laser level he HAD to have...I don't think he's ever used it as an actual level :) )

Send me an email and we can discuss the details.

Thanks,

Hal, no I didn't see that, but it sounds like something I should go see. :)

MikeA,
If I end up using it, I will be heating it up in the forge first, and that pretty much burns up anything, including the metal if you leave it in tere too long. :) So you think the tub would be good for a COP?

Thanks for the replies! I don't have any calipers to check gauge, but at least I could practice on it. I think the motor is shot. Washing machine is on last legs - what gauge steel is it?

Hiya, My washing machine is gonna die soon, and I was hoping to be able to cannibalize (sp?) the steel. Anyone know what gauge steel this is? Also, can the tub be cut up for plates for a COP? Anything else in there I could use? (hehehee) I'm really sad that it's dying, so I will stand vigil over it ...

Crazysaxon,
Thank you very much!

The key to kingsmaille is doing it as you go. It's a total pain in the arse to try to go back and double up the rings after you have already woven the 4 in 1. Also, you need to make sure your ID is large enough for it.

Thanks again!
