Thanks Matt. I will be PM'ing you shortly with the shipping rates. Ok, so the pouch is sold, but the cloth is still available. The price for the cloth by itself is $8. Thanks to Cian's very helpful information, I am taking the beeswax cube off the "market" and will look into mixing it with...

Small items you can make from linen?

Hey guys, I've got a bit of linen here, and I was wondering what kind of small items could I use it for. Would there have been any pouches made from linen? Dolls maybe? What about embroidery? I don't know anything about it and don't know how to do it, but would it have been done on linen? (Is that w...

FS:Archer's "kit" Bowstring cloth price reduced

This is another idea I've been playing around with. I only have one of these right now, and this is kind of a test to see if it's worth pursuing. This is a little archer's kit I put together, and consists of a pouch, a chunk of beeswax, and a bowstring cloth. The pouch: This pouch is made of Elk ski...

These are water/hammer hardened, then finished with the acrylic stuff to give it extra backbone, and the wax stuff (which also adds hardness) to give it a nice finish outside. (I love the wax stuff - It's so purdy ) As for making more....I really don't know. The last time I checked, Tandy no longer ...

Man, I wish there was something else I could say besides "thank you", because that simply doesn't cover it. I'm really touched, and appreciate it more than I can express. You all are very kind, and I enjoyed working with every one of you!

Rowan, That is one of the kindest reviews I have ever gotten. Thank you! I'm so glad you didn't feel like working with me (and putting up with the whole misaligned hole deal) was a hassle. Once again, thank you very much! I agree with you. Paying attention to little details can make a so so piece a really nice piece. Too often, the little details are overlooked for speedier construction, which I have been guilty of as well. It took me while to figure out which details to pay attention...

FS: Hardened Leather knees SOLD- thanks!

SOLD - thanks! As I was going through some stuff, I came across these two knees that I made eons ago (from my very first armour thickness hide). They are 2 different prototypes, but are very similar in size and shape. These are hardened, and have an acrylic finish on the inside and a wax based finis...

Thank you very much. I will probably focus on leather since it will be easier on my wrist, but will probably dabble in steel here and there. I may do a bit of woodworking as well. I'm not sure if it's carple tunnel. The only joint that hurts is the one on the thumb side, and it's REALLY localized to one spot up inside near the joint. I'm guessing I tore a ligament or tendon or something up in there. It's probably a small tear too, as I imagine a large tear or separation would...

Maille work announcement

Hey guys, I haven't made any maille in a LONG time, but I have had a couple of inquiries recently, so I thought I had better make this announcement. More than likely, I will be dropping all the maille items from my site once I reopen. I have a wrist injury that I think is going to prevent me from cu...

I was just thinking the same thing (about sandpaper) then I read your post. How weird! I don't know about stingrays, but I think I remember something about shark skin being used. I've held a shark before, and they do have rough skin, but it's only rough in one direction. If it was used, I would gues...

Yes, if you were referring to mine, they were made to look like the originals. They can be made SCA legal, but then they don't look like the originals. I made them for those that wanted the look, but not the weight of steel.

Hey guys, When I sent my prototype bracer off to Aaron Schnatterly, he did a good bit of field testing on it and got back with me to discuss the results.
