I really have not problems with it. I think "defining" half speed is going to take some time. The Caution is worthy. I also think finding documentation for Early Medieval fighting styles is going to be troublesome. Late Period has manuals: I've seen no such thing for early or even High medieval time...

Simple: La Tene is a place? Go find the dig reports at a college library. Also, a tip--there seems to be a lot "celtic" period archaeology in and around Hungry. Look for the Hungrian pre-history section in the same college library.

I hope your fighter friend is right about the chin-strap keeping your nose off your helm. I have scar on my nose for that. Scary as hell when it happened.

Personally, if your helm fits tight with only 1/2 inch padding, I would say it's too small.

I think these would be the one of the Valsgarde and Ulltuna helms from the Vendel Period in Sweden. For Valsgarde, Greta Ardwidsson the source; there are 3 books. Keep bothering me about it. Spring is here, and I am busy.

I usually "tank" water (and only water on the logic that sports drinks have too much salt) before, during and after big fighting events. The logic being that I will not overheat. I also eat banannas also with all this. The article in quesiton makes me wonder if I'm not overdoing it.

I find it interesting that this simply doesn't apply to electrolytes in general--my sodium intake is something I monitor with the potential for high bloodpressure.
