Cleaning Leather.

I have the leather weight-lifting belt that's sweat-stained or salt stained, etc. Is cleaning it with saddle soap ok? Or is there a better way?

Thanks,

Not to be overly critical, but I would at least require the mail to be rivited, in good shape, and well secured to the helmet.

I've worn a gorget through-out my fight "career" with little or no problems.

The only reason in my mind to use plastic is price, I fight in this stuff, and since it's blue, I call it my battle thermos. Plastic does not pass heat. Say it with me, and think of Pennsic, "Plastic does not pass heat." I have the stuff in black and never had any problem with heat in it....

Gin. Gin was pretty much the cocaine of England in the 18th Century, so much so that a tax put upon it caused riots in 1736. Tournaments date to the 11th century at the earliest, and Scandanavia isn't noted for its heavy cavalry during the Migration era. I don't know of any scholars alive who extend the Middle Ages to the Fall of Rome, but rather recognize the era as one of tribal migrations. A prerequisite of the Middle...
