I was persuing through the September 2008 edition of "Apollo" yesterday, and found a color photograph of a 14th century bascinet helm. It's opposite page 40.

A friend of mine told me about Dagohir, and I immediately had wacky fantasies about forming a group of orcs called "Uruk Nada" aka "The Buradur Bullies" (however you spell it). These orcs would be such that even other orcs couldn't stand them (one legend has that a captured mount...

I'm thinking of taking Amtrak. Pros: --I won't have to drive. --Rail is convenient to my apt. --Most of my luggage can go with me. --I don't have to go thru an airport. --I can read/work for a bit in transit. Cons: --Amtrak's werid ticket pricing policies: always depend upon an increase. --It's a 26...

So now I have couple of questions for more recent attendees: 1. How much is the gate fee? The website does n...

I am no expert on things 14th century, but I can tell you from experience that "stringing" armor parts together allows for some flexibility where it's needed (like when you're trying to breath), and more importantly, it is a simple fix outside of a shop, in the field.
